Antique Store Window Display Stand Before and After

Today when browsing my picture files I came across  this stand that I restored years ago.
  ... BEFORE ...

Long ... long ... long before blogging ...
I bought this display stand from an Estate sale,
not even knowing what it displayed.

At that time I was selling on eBay, so thought it would be useful to sell or use for photo props.
The display boards were padded with old brown cotton
and covered with burlap.

Update ... I was featured By:

Thanks Kathe ... such an honor.

Now back for the   ............................
... AFTER ...
the back ...

... and if I remember correctly, the front was covered with tattered tan paper ...
full of pin holes as it was a
display for three Men shirts.

I had one shirt to display so used ties on the other two.

Back ...
The display boards will rotate a little.
I covered each board with red ticking material ...
(even before it was popular)
and used upholstery gimp on the seam.

Pretty enough to display almost anything ...

Vintage blouse ... and old photos ...
Miss Kewpie/Cupie doll
and  Alice.

Easter hat ... vintage jewelry ...and kids

Remember the BEFORE ....

... and now the AFTER.
with antique eye glasses ... jewelry and Grandma

Hope you enjoyed these befores and afters.

Thanks for the visit and I hope you will leave a comment to let me know you were here.
If you have trouble leaving a comment, please let me know so I can try to fix it.
Blessings,

  2. What a very interesting display piece.
I guess these are old pictures and you've sold it? Or...do you still use it?
I think it is unusual and I can see how useful it could be for someone with a shop or photographer..in fact, I bet there are many more uses for it...
I like seeing past projects...before blogging, before Pinterest, etc.
Hope you are enjoying the SPRING LIKE DAY WE'RE HAVING... Pat

    1. Hi Pat ... Thanks for the visit and nice comment. I did sell the stand to a dealer and she still has it. I saw it in her shop the other day ... but it may be for sale. Yes, they are old pictures and I still have them.
Have a wonderful day. Audrey Z.

  8. I like seeing the older projects since that is how you worked your way up to the "I can't believe she created that look" that you have today!

  13. I have hunted for one of these for a display at the antique mall, but when I find one it is too expensive. I love how you refurbished it and the display are lovely. My favorite is the dolls.

  15. I am TOTALLY....IN....LOVE.
This is an awesome project...you are sooo talented.
Tell me how you did the numbers in your header. I have a cedar chest I am about to paint and I've looked for some great French words or just pretty number decals...(I can't paint anything and stencils are hard for me)......any suggestions?

    1. hi bj ... I used Microsoft Publisher to lay out the numbers, reversed and printed them on wax paper and ironed them to the drawer front. See my Dec. 2011 blog on painted benches.
I edited the picture in PicMonkey with the Textures feature.
Graphic Fairy has great graphics and methods for transfer. Good luck ... Audrey
