Can you tell time by the shadows?

The key ...

Telling time with shadows.

Shadow from old hay rake says it is 1:45 p.m. ...

 2:00 p.m.
 3:00 p.m.

This old John Deer cultivator says it is 5:00 p.m. and quitting time.
Hope your enjoyed your day in the sun ...

  8. So glad that you finally sat down to post some pictures. I have always loved the shadows that the pitch fork make even those in the moon light. Strange timing on something that happen just this weekend at the ranch. They guy were sitting on the back porch grilling and asked "Did I know how the sundial worked". So I sat it in the sun and turned it but still was not getting the time I knew it was. I moved and turned it trying to see if I had it sitting backward. Till finally I thought about was I was doing and said. "It is 1:30 (knew it was 2:30) Sundial don't do day light savings." The sun dial was on Sun time and not day light saving as the clock are on.

Your pictures are beautiful but beautiful as YOU are. You are the best Mom in the World and have always been glad to be in your shadow. LOVE YOU

    1. I wondered about real time vs solar time too and daylight savings time does affect a sundial. And yes, you are correct, "sundials do not do daylight savings time".
I love having you in my shadow.
      Thanks,
      Mom
