Wire Whisk...Bright Idea

Whisking up a bright idea.
This is a large wire whisk that would have been used in a restaurant. I bought it at an Estate Sale for $1.00. Wish I had bought all three of them.

Not only for cooking ... I made a light out of it. I wired it to hang and it looked pretty cute in my kitchen. So easy and quick ... just drilled a hole through the handle, and ran the lamp cord pipe up through and attached a ring finial on top to hang it. Whisk wires are very flexible to work through or change the bulb. The Edison bulb is perfect for it.

Then I thought it would also be nice as a table lamp and all I needed was a base ...

... so, I remembered this small Christmas tree stand and it was perfect.
I just clamped it in. If I decide to leave it as a table lamp, I will change the wiring to run through the bottom of the stand.

What do you think ... table lamp or hanging lamp.

{nifty button}So happy to have my " Bright Idea" featured on Nifty Thrifty Sunday.
Thanks, Vanessa

take care, counting my blessings, Pat

  2. I am off to our local antique stores and see if I can't find one of these. this is fabulous! Thanks for sharing!

  3. This is great Audrey! I like it hanging. Too bad you didn't get the other two, they would have looked cute hanging in a row.
    Chris =]

  4. LOVE it, Audrey!!! Where did you buy the parts to turn it into a lamp? I keep wanting to do something like this, but don't know what parts to look for.

  5. I love this idea! Both ways are so much fun, but I'm really liking it as a table lamp. The little Christmas tree stand is perfect.

  6. Oh Audrey, I love this! What a unique and clever idea :) Thanks for sharing with us. Your header looks lovely.

  7. New to your blog. Can't resist saying I like it hanging. Have to go read more now. :)

  8. Aren't you the clever one!!! I think either is very cute! Nancy

  9. Very very clever, Audrey! I think I like it as a table lamp in the tree stand best.

  10. I suspect that you are the first person to match a christmas tree holder, a wisk and an electric light together to make a lamp. LOVE it.

  11. GOOD HEAVENS, WOMAN...this is genius.
Just the CUTEST, I am partial to the hanging version but I actually like it either way.
That creative mind of yours is working overtime. :))
    hugs, bj

  12. Oh My Goodness!! I'm in love with your whisk light! I especially love it hanging. If you could find a base that would allow it to hang, I bet that would achieve a similar vibe. FANTASTIC!!!

  17. Yes, you should have bought all three - these look so great hanging or standing. My favorite would the one in the Christmas tree stand - such a clever, clever girl!

  18. Awesome! I really like the table lamp version. So smart!!

  19. EIther way, I totally LOVE it! I am pinning this! Life to the full! Melissa @ DaisyMaeBelle

  20. I think you need to find another one, so you can have both a hanging and a table lamp! I love them both, you are so great at putting things together!

  21. Either way this really stirs me! Would look great with 3 over and island (now you need to find 2 more)! Pinning this - it's up cycling perfection!
