they are aglow with Autumn colors.
I have been cleaning out and purging ... but when I found this cute Scarecrow in my daughter's pre-K coloring books ... I just could not toss it ... I had to share it ...
This a long time ago ... like, late 1950's ... early '60's.
The Scarecrow is cut out of cardboard and clothes are glued on. This is before hot glue.
Mouth and chin are drawn in with ink. The coat is two pieces, lapped and glued to the body. Collar is folded down and tacked in place. Button and pocket are glued on. Bluejeans pants with patches ... and looks like seam binding gathered up for the feet and hands but would be cute with straw, raveled burlap or raffia. Of course, a black velvet hat that is a little moth eaten.
This could be recreated for gift tags ... place cards ... a banner by attaching the hands together or just a fun decoration.
You are welcome to print this pattern for your own decorating use.
I would love to see how you use him.
Enjoy ...
I just sat him in a table decoration and he is really cute...
