Repurposed Sad Looking Yellow Metal Industrial Cart for TV Table

That's the TICKET hosted by:

Competition proved to be a challenge for me as per the FIVE categories below:

Furniture Makeovers
Vintage "Junk" Creations
Sewing
Handmade Home Décor
Homemade Food

... as of late, I have not done any exciting Furniture Makeovers ... did some Vintage "Junk" Creations, but posted most of those already ... do not Sew and not much on Cooking ... and, at this moment, can't think of any Handmade Home Décor...

Sooooooooo, while cleaning out my files, I found paper copies of a furniture makeover I did several years ago, before I even heard of blogging. Scanned these so I can show some before pictures.
I was very proud of this makeover, so here goes ...

We bought a new flat screen TV to replace the huge cabinet TV we had and needed a table to sit it on, so I went shopping ... not the furniture stores, but the Junk and Thrift Shops.

I remembered seeing a old dirty, sad looking yellow metal Industrial cart sitting outside one of the Thrifts and I thought it would work so that is where I headed.

I inquired about it and the lady said she was not able to sell it so she gave it to me.
Nice bones, locking wheels were very good ... little to no rust ... sound condition, but no bottom shelf ... no back ... peeling linoleum on the top ... and dirty as can be.

Well ... I had to ask Mr. Z. to go by with the truck to pick it up. I carefully explained that it was really pretty junky, but it was FREE and I thought it would work for what we wanted. It would be junky to him, but was not junky to me, because I had a vision of what it could be and not what it is, and he does not.

This junky metal yellow cart soon became this ...
Now ... what do you think ?
Has a nice beadboard back ... a clean top ... a nice thick piece of board for the bottom and a new color. Don't remember the color, but black or charcoal spray paint ... and look at that cute little slide-out shelf on the side. Have no idea what this cart was used for, but really did not make a difference.

There was a large cut-out in the top so we had to decide what to cover the top with. One of the Flea Markets that I visited often had huge piles of marble or granite piled in a field in the back of the building.
We rummaged through piles until we found a scrap big enough for the cart. Of course, we ended up getting several pieces for other projects. It was not expensive. The expensive part was having it cut and beveled, but we felt it was worth it.

Nice marbling. TV is backed up to stained glass windows so hard to get pictures without reflections.

Now here it is getting moved into the house and the TV hooked up. The little slide-out shelf is great for adding a plant to soften the hard edge of the TV.

These pictures should tell the rest of the story.

Enough room on the shelf for baskets or pottery which helps hide the cables and wires.

We have really enjoyed seeing this makeover.

Thanks for visiting.
Blessings,
Audrey Z.
