I have quite a collection of Children's chairs, and can be seen here ...Little Chairs
... and when I saw this one at an Estate Sale, I just had to have it. Just one of those pieces that you rarely find ... so for those, you pay the price ...
and oh my, that red and teal colors ...
and that chippy paint !!!
Walking around with this at the sale, one lady asked if I was going to have it sandblasted and repainted ... duh ...
or another one asked ... what color are your going to paint it ??? didn't they know it was just perfect just like it is?
with just a little bit of rust ...
Sitting pretty on the front porch ...
It even look great in our guest bedroom as a plant holder ...
(the walls are actually sage ... not blue).
or teamed with an old garden gate ...
What do you think ???
should I have it sandblasted and painted ...
Thanks for the visit ...
your comments mean so much.
Blessings,
Audrey Z.

What a cool chair I would leave it as is. You have such a good eye and sure have fun thanks!
ReplyDeleteI would leave it as it is & use it as a plant holder. Love it.
ReplyDeleteOf course not!!

Oh.. how sweet. Could they not see the beauty in it? Perfect as it stands.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Gee
If I were to paint it...I'd spray it with clear coat. It would help cut down any further rust;but preserve the chippy patina of age that it has already.
ReplyDeleteThe best of both!
I like it w/a plant in it. Pat
Loved the little chair in every spot. Never saw one before but the rust and layers of color showing through layers of color - fantastic.

I've never seen one of those either. You are the queen of knowing when to change it and when to leave it alone. If you say it's perfect, then so do I!
ReplyDeleteOh my! That is a keeper...as is, of course!
ReplyDeleteFarmhouse hugs,
Cindy
No, it's perfect as it is. I love the plant in it, Audrey. It matches the gate perfectly. I have been wondering what you have been up to and checking for a new post.
ReplyDeleteWell I'm certainly glad you got it rather than someone who would have painted over that fabulous Patina and Character that only years of History can adequately create!

Hi Audrey! I was happy to see you at the Rock 'N Share! I think your chair is perfect and looks right at home on your porch and I especially like it as a plant holder! Nice find!
ReplyDeleteI love it just the way it is. I use chairs for plant holders too and love that look! Thanks so much for your nice comment at my blog. I'm a new follower. Your blog is lovely.
ReplyDeleteNooooo you should not paint it. I LOVE it Audrey. What a great looking chair.
ReplyDeleteOh, no, they didn't! Repaint this!?! It just needs a gentle cleaning and a waxing. I love the way you have styled it. I think she is an indoor beauty.
