While traveling across Texas,
you will see highway signs that say
"Don't Mess With Texas" ...
"Don't Mess With Texas" ...
like DO NOT litter!!!
When Spring comes and the bluebonnets bloom ... there is a new warning.
"Don't pick the bluebonnets!"
The terrible Texas drought may not be broken but the wonderful rains have made for a beautiful Spring.
This is FM306 from New Braunsfels to Purgatory Road ... almost to Canyon Lake.
Highway 71 from Austin to Brady
be very careful where you step, sit or squat.
When Texans say ...
"Don't Pick the Bluebonnets"... they mean it.
This is a very big Diamond-back rattler.
Not sure this is the safest way to handle a very dangerous snake.
I wanted to share these beautiful photos with you ... courtesy of a friend.
Hope you enjoyed them.
Blessings.

Wow Audrey that is beautiful! I have heard that the bluebonnets were beautiful in Texas, but I never would have thought this.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the beauty.
Audrey, I've never been to Texas and had no idea the bluebonnets were so plentiful and so beautiful! Thanks for the lesson and I promise not to pick them whenever I do get there. I'll also stay far away from the rattlers! ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteWow! Absolutely Beautiful! Not the snake of course! yikes!

Breathtaking views! The bluebonnets aren't as plentiful down here...I live in an area that seeds bluebonnets all over the development...they have been in abundance some years and I thought the rains would have produced another big show of bluebonnets this...but not so far. So, I'm glad you took the time to share these gorgeous displays of bluebonnets at Show & Tell.
ReplyDeleteThat is one mean looking rattler. I'm TERRIFIED of snakes.

ReplyDeleteCould do without the snake though!! LOL!
Hugs,

I found you through the sidebar on the "Sweet Romantic Notions" blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm supposed to see some bluebonnets tomorrow, in the Brenham/Chappell Hill area. I hope they're as lovely as those photos you posted. I missed them so much last year! Hopefully, I can get some nice pics without people in them.
As well as no snakes. Eek!
Kristin... also glad to "meet" another Texan
That would be a nasty surprise in the bluebonnets. I bet Texan's know what that sign is warning about. Yipes. Thanks for visiting. I do check back every day to see if you have posted. Loved your last post too.
ReplyDeleteA field of Bluebonnets just takes my breath away. Sooo beautiful.
