Yummy !!!
Cooler weather turns our interest to Fall,
comfort food and Thanksgiving.
I am ready for some of my fresh cranberry chutney.

I got this recipe out of a Southern Living magazine in 1949 before we got married in 1950. (yes, married 66 years )
I worked at a "Five and Dime".
How many of you remember those stores?
There is one in Fredericksburg, Texas
not far from where we live and I love to go there.
I see they have added 25¢
When the magazine salesman came to our store he would remove the outdated magazines; tear the covers off (to return for credit) and then throw the magazine away.
Sometimes I would ask for them.
This is where I got this great recipe and others.
Cranberry-Orange Chutney
1 cup fresh orange sections
1/4 cup orange juice
4 cups cranberries
2 cups sugar
1 cup chopped, unpeeled apple
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1 tablespoon vinegar
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Combine all ingredients in a large sauce pan and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for five minutes or until berries begin to burst.
Chill until serving time. Yield: 5½ cups.
Store in refrigerator. Freezes well.

So pretty !
Tastes great on a left-over turkey sandwich.
